On the morning of Tuesday, 9/14, Andrea Freeman, candidate for mayor, was the guest speaker for a town hall at Leominster High School that was organized and facilitated by STUMP (Students for Transparency & Understanding Municipal Government). Originally planned as a debate, Freeman's opponent never responded to the student group organizing the event and so it was changed to a town hall format where Freeman answered questions posed by students. Some of the questions were given ahead of time and others were asked by audience members during the event. Freeman was thankful for the opportunity to engage with the students and speak with them about the importance of municipal government and her own campaign for Mayor of Leominster.
"Having been a partner and advocate with ELM over the years, I'm delighted to receive ELM Action Fund's Endorsement," said Andrea Freeman.
Last month, Andrea Freeman received the endorsement of SEIU Local 509. SEIU Local 509 represents over 20,000 human service workers and educators across Massachusetts. From mental health clinicians and social workers to early childhood educators and university lecturers, Local 509's members are united in raising living standards for working families and improving the quality and affordability of the services they provide.
The mission of SEIU Local 509 reflects many of the goals Andrea has when elected mayor; such as increasing quality, affordable options for early education, increased support for mental health, and raising living standards for working families within Leominster. We are absolutely thrilled that Andrea has received this endorsement and believe that together we can position Leominster to have a future that is at least as great as its storied past.
